Esoteric Warfare is the album your heart and stomach find a perfect stimuli for your musical needs, while the mind delves deeper to its core and sees the horror of your personal subjugation. It's more of a musical blueprint for all that is uneven and amiss For those that don't "get it" - this Album, Esoteric Warfare, is written for ONE GUITAR !! It is written for live shows! - and not for some hyper produced twin guitar iPod earphone experience for the dumb generation totally accustomed and attuned to the "LOUDNESS WARS". Aion Suntalia 2014 brings the 30th anniversary of the single most notorious and important band in the history of black metal; MAYHEM. Esoteric Warfare is an album of lyrical child’s play, a teenager’s diary of paranoia and petulance. If black metal was born of adolescent hardcore rage, Mayhem has taken care not to forsake. Let this be known; Esoteric Warfare is a grower, as it took a few listens for the album to gel. Teloch is a capable replacement for the underrated Blasphemer both as a songwriter and a guitarist, and if you enjoyed Csihar’s off-balanced warbling and cooing, you will love his schizophrenic performance. Esoteric Warfare stands somewhere in between them, on the grounds of the fantastic sound production, the mix of tendonitis-inducing and laid back/vapor-like riffing by Teloch, Hellhammer’s inhuman drumming, and the demented vocals of Attila Csihar.
